Children are a blessing, but wouldn't it be nice to get some shopping done without having to hear "MOM MOM MOM" (or "DAD DAD DAD") every five minutes?

If you answered yes to that question, then listen up.

Barb and Ron Ornelas, a native Loveland couple, are offering free daycare from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, December 14 at the Hall of Faith gym behind Faith Evangelical Church (2707 N. Wilson Ave.) in Loveland.

The two are missionaries to the Navajo people in Tolani Lake, where almost 75% of the people live below the poverty line.

Together, they formed the Nizhoni Partnership, a non-profit that helps these residents repair their homes, provides them with clothing and food, and offers transportation to the doctor's office or the grocery store.

The couple also hosts Bible studies and movie nights in a space called "The Gathering Place," where they bring people together with the goal of making sure everyone feels like they belong.

Now, the pair is temporarily back in Loveland, and they want to give back to their home community.

So, they, along with some Navajo friends, are offering free daycare on December 14. There will be a mini-basketball camp, game stations, and snacks.

The event is open to potty-trained children ages 4 and up. All our welcome, and are not required to be a member of the church.

"We hope the kids have a great time and really want Moms and Dads (single parents or couples) to have a chance to have some 'alone' time," said the Ornelas. "It is a 'Merry Christmas' to all of the hard-working Moms and Dads!"

Registration opens at 8:45 a.m. that morning. Be sure to sign up fast, as the number of children is limited to 60.
