Loveland Man Jailed 14 Years for Kidnapping, Burning Victim with Hot Knife
A Loveland man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after he allegedly kidnapped a man and burned him with a knife he heated up with a torch.
Authorities said that Eric Madaleno kidnapped and burned his cousins ex-boyfriend with a hot "pirate-style-knife."
According to testimony, Madaleno's cousin Mariah Aragon had a messy break up with her ex-boyfriend Jaime Galvan. Madaleno and Aragon set up a meeting with Galvan to lure him in, where they kidnapped him.
Investigators said Madaleno took Galvan into a room, beat him with a metal rod before using a blow torch to heat up a "pirate-style-knife" and burn him on unspecified parts of his body.
According to the Coloradoan, investigators found a metal rod, knife and a torch at Maldaleno's home.
The burns on Jaime Galvan were so severe he had to be treated at Anschutz Burn Center in Aurora, Colorado.
