Officers found 1,073 images of child pornography on Steven Ralph Yaden's phone, according to the Loveland Reporter-Herald.

Yaden, 31, was a Larimer County’s Alternative Sentencing Department (ASD) inmate, and was sentenced to the ASD program on Feb. 1, 2016, for 70 days of jail time with work release, according to court documents.

Yaden's cellphone was confiscated after being accused of visiting an unauthorized location.

Inmates in the ASD program are contractually obligated to allow staff to search electronic devices the inmates own.

While searching Yaden's phone, the officer found about 150 photos of child sexual content, according to the affidavit.

The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports that "a search warrant was obtained for the phone’s contents, and an officer in the Colorado chapter of the Internet Crimes Against Children taskforce analyzed the images using a program that detects child exploitative material".

In total, Yaden's phone had 1,073 images that were defined as sexually exploitative pictures of children under Colorado law, according to the affidavit.

Yaden admitted to downloading the images onto his cellphone from a file sharing website, the affidavit said.

Currently, Yaden is out on an $8,000 bond.

His first court appearance was scheduled for Thursday morning.
