Loveland Woman in Custody Following Friday Morning Car Chase
Authorities have arrested a Loveland woman following a high-speed car chase on Friday (Feb. 19) morning.
According to Denver7, the pursuit began around 12:25 a.m. when a Boulder County Sheriff's Office deputy tried to pull over a gray Chevy pick-up truck, which had reportedly been stolen at gunpoint on Thursday (Feb. 18) in Lakewood.
The driver, identified as D'kota Joann Loraine Haley, 28, of Loveland, sped away from the deputy, igniting an 80-mph car chase with the Longmont Police Department and Colorado State Patrol.
Using slow sticks, authorities were able to stop the vehicle around State Highway 66 on State Highway 287. Haley attempted to flee through a nearby field, but officers quickly found and arrested her.
Authorities treated Haley for minor cuts she sustained from a barbed wire fence.
She is currently in the Boulder County Jail, facing charges of reckless driving, reckless endangerment, felony eluding, revoked driver's license, criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance.
She is also being held on four outstanding arrest warrants.
Denver7 reports that Haley previously bonded out of the Douglas County Jail on Wednesday (Feb. 17), where she was being held for a December Larimer County car chase on charges of aggravated motor vehicle theft, violation of bail bond conditions, reckless driving, vehicle eluding and driving under alcohol-related restraint.
