A 25-year-old Fort Collins, Colorado man could face up to 22 years in prison after a Wyoming trooper found drugs in his car.

According to an affidavit, a trooper made contact with Zachary Gooden shortly after 7 p.m. on Nov. 9 after Gooden's car broke down near milepost 43 on U.S. Highway 85 northeast of Cheyenne.

When asked about his disheveled appearance, Gooden reportedly told the trooper that he was a recovering drug addict.

Gooden's car was subsequently searched and two glass pipes containing meth residue, multiple needles which appeared to be loaded with liquid heroin and two pills identified by Gooden as Subutex were reportedly found.

Gooden was arrested and charged with felony possession of heroin and third offense possession of methamphetamine, heroin and buprenorphine.

Gooden is free on a $3,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 21 in Laramie County Circuit Court.
