A fire broke out just before noon on Sunday after a vehicle caught fire and ignited surrounding vegetation. According to a media release from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, by 11 p.m.  yesterday fires had already wiped out approximately 370 acres with 32% contained by fire officials.

Fires raged through the McNay Hill area, near Glacier View Gate 1 on Larimer County Road 74E, commonly referred to as Red Feather Lakes Road. As a safety precaution, power lines were turned off in the surrounding area. Residents in the Gate 1 and Gate 2 areas of Glacier View were encouraged to evacuate.

On Sunday there were around 100 personnel, 13 different agencies, 11 aircraft and dozens of vehicles. Damage will be assed this morning along with continued efforts to control the blaze.
