The Northern Colorado Drug Task Force arrested eight alleged drug traffickers on Tuesday (Sept. 10) in various cities in Colorado.

The Task Force said it executed warrants in Fort Collins, Berthoud, Arvada, Aurora, Campion, Denver and Thornton in "Operation Malverde." SWAT teams were used in the arrest operations.

Authorities seized meth, heroin, fentanyl and firearms from the drug trafficking organization.

The investigation had been sparked by the death of a 40-year-old man who overdosed on heroin in North Fort Collins back in May.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law. An arrest is merely an accusation of a crime by law enforcement.
