According to Larimer County Department of Health and Environment, 47 people have been hospitalized with the flu since the 'season' began on September 30, 2019. Statewide, over 900 people have been hospitalized with the illness.

While there's only so much you can do when it's goin' around, the illness is on the rise in Northern Colorado, so here's your friendly reminder to cover when you cough and wash your hands. Oh, and one simple way to prevent the flu is to get vaccinated.

'It’s not too late to get your flu shot this year, but the sooner the better,' Dr. Chris Nevin-Woods, Medical Director for the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment said in a press release. 'It takes about two weeks for someone to be protected from the flu after their vaccination, so it’s important to get it now.'

Flu season is expected to last until May 2020. Learn more about flu and prevention here.
