Need Something New To Watch? Check Out This Week’s “Picks To Click”
Picture this: You just got home after a long day out on the town and you make a b-line right for the couch. You turn your TV on - what are you going to watch?
Will you watch the same show or movie you've already seen a thousand times? Probably.
That's where we come in -
We (AJ and I) are those people, watching the same things we've already seen time and time again - not that there's anything wrong with that... we've just decided that it's now time to expand our watchlists.
If you're looking for a new show or movie to watch, look no further.
At the beginning of every week, we'll be sharing our "Picks To Click", a series of different shows/movies we're currently watching, with you.
And - who knows? One of our suggestions might even become your new favorite show/movie.
Ready to expand your watchlist? Read on to find out what our "Picks To Click" are for this week:
Maxx's "Picks To Click" Of The Week:
1. You
This Netflix series has had me hooked from its very first season - and I know I'm just one of the millions of people who feel this way.
The televised thriller is based on the book, You, written by Caroline Kepnes; in the first season, we meet Joe Goldberg - a bookstore manager who winds up meeting an aspiring writer that he quickly becomes infatuated with. In order to keep up with his growing obsession with her, Joe winds up going to ultimate lengths to track her every move... in order to "eliminate the possibility of anything that could possibly stand in the way of their romance"... (spoiler alert - the guy's absolutely nuts).
Without giving too much away, I will say that my brief little synopsis of the show only touches the surface of just how crazy the series continues to get.
I just started watching the new season this week and I'm pretty sure I'm already more than halfway through it - it's seriously that good.
If you do decide to start watching, I would definitely suggest starting the series from season one; the first season is great, and every season that follows just gets better.
You can watch You now on Netflix.
2. Blades Of Glory
Ok, I'll admit it - this isn't a new find.
Blades of Glory happens to be one of my all-time favorite movies, but for whatever reason, I haven't seen it in years... but then I came across the movie on a streaming platform last weekend.
Without hesitation, I turned it on immediately and was so excited to watch - as if I had never seen this comedic masterpiece before (confession #2 - I've seen this movie several times).
Chazz Michael Michaels (Will Farrell) and Jimmy MacElroy (Jon Heder) are two of the world's best male figure skaters. Finding themselves sharing the first place title after each winning Gold at the Winter Olympics, neither skater takes the split victory lightly; in fact, they wind up getting into an epic fight which costs them both their reputations and their winning titles, and gets them permanently banned from all men's singles figure skating competitions.
Michaels and MacElroy quite literally went down by putting up a fight, but they wouldn't keep kept down for long - despite being permanently banned as individual skaters, the guys wind up finding a loophole that allows them to qualify to skate. That loophole? Signing up for competition as a pairs team.
I wouldn't be surprised if you've seen this movie already, too, but if not (or honestly, even if you have) and you're ever in the mood for a good laugh, I think this movie will, no doubt, do the trick.
You can watch Blades Of Glory now on Hulu.
