The renovated Windsor Mill building now has its own brewery.

Peculier Ales at 301 Main Street will debut to the public on Saturday (Aug. 29). The brewery plans to have nine beers on tap for the debut.

The brewer behind the new operation is Nick Armitage, who has professionally brewed for WeldWerks Brewing, Crabtree Brewing and Lonesome Buck Brewing. He also previously interned in the quality control department at New Belgium.

The brewery is named after the term for an English church run outside the jurisdiction of the bishop of the diocese in which it is situated, according to the brewery website.

Peculier Ales plans to be open daily, from Noon to 9 p.m. every Monday through Saturday; and noon to 7 p.m. on Sundays.

The brewery joins bar Windsor Mill Tavern and Italian eatery Cacciatore at Heller's Kitchen in the historic building.

Peculier Ales is Windsor's fourth brewery, joining High Hops Brewery, Mash Lab Brewing and Mighty River Brewing in the local beer-making scene.
