It looks like the café with the "purr-fect" twist will soon be officially calling Northern Colorado home.

Back in December of last year, speculation began to stir around the possibility that people would soon be able to enjoy a morning brew in the company of adoptable foster cats and kittens at a new, innovative coffee shop in Loveland.

Speculation, however, has since turned into reality.

According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald, The NoCo Cat Café, which has held several pop-up adoption events in Northern Colorado, will be opening a permanent location for their creative, innovative concept in Loveland this spring.

It is expected to be the first cat café in the region.

About Noco Cat Cafe & Rescue

The mission behind this unique animal rescue is to provide a safe environment for cats and the community to socialize in a fun, relaxing environment.

NoCo Cat Cafe hosted its first pop-up back in October 2021 in downtown Loveland, which resulted in a turnout of nearly 200 and led to the adoption of multiple cats - all of who were present at the pop-up cafe.

At the pop-up cafe, adorable, adoptable cats and kittens are brought in from the NoCo Cat Cafe's nonprofit cat rescue partner, Colorado Kitty Coalition, which is based in Fort Collins.

In a public post to the cat rescue's Facebook page over the weekend, NoCo Cat Cafe founders Kimberly Tejchma-Sanford and her husband, Christopher shared that this upcoming weekend's pop-up Cat Cafe would be the last - but it's only to make room for something even better.

Tejchma-Sanford and her husband told the Loveland Reporter-Herald that they anticipate having their permanent location open in the next few months.

The new cat cafe will operate just like the pop-up; people will still be able to visit the cafe and enjoy warm beverages, all while getting to enjoy the company of cats and kittens looking for their forever homes.

“We’ve just always loved cats and felt passionate about helping cats and kittens.”, Tejchma-Sanford told the Reporter-Herald.

NoCo Cat Cafe's New Location

The Loveland Reporter-Herald says Tejchma-Sanford and her husband will open a permanent location in downtown Loveland, located at 121 E. Fifth St, next to Top Hat Saloon.

The Top Hat is reportedly moving, and according to Tejchma-Sanford, the owner of both spaces will be completing some work to the wall between 121 and 123 E. Fifth St. before the cat café can officially take ownership of the space.

In the meantime, plans are currently in place for a mural of Longs Peak on the cat café side of that shared wall along with tunnels, bridges, and other structures for the cats to climb, roam and play on.

The café will sell coffee and tea and packaged goods, all of which will be provided through partnerships with other local businesses; there will not be a kitchen on site.

More On The Adoptable Cats At NoCo Cat Cafe

All of the cats and kittens up for adoption at NoCo Cat Cafe - both the pop-up and the new permanent location - will have been spayed or neutered, received veterinary care, and socialized through the cafe's partners, Colorado Kitty Coalition before they are put up for adoption.

Interested individuals in adopting a cat will be required to complete an adoption application online before coming to the cat cafe, although the cafe will be open for anyone who wants to stop by — whether you're looking to adopt or you're just looking for the temporary company of a furry friend.

“We’re very excited,” Tejchma-Sanford told the Loveland Reporter-Herald.

“It will be another fun experience for people to come enjoy downtown, a destination. … We’re just excited to help cats.”
