Northern Colorado is under a snow squall warning until 8:45 a.m. on Monday.

You may have seen the alert to your phone and thought, 'What the heck is a snow squall?' I thought the same thing, so I Googled it.

According to CNN, it's a short but ferocious burst of heavy snow and strong wind, usually lasting less than an hour. They often occur in the daytime and cause suddenly slick roads, which can lead to high-speed wrecks due to the whiteout conditions.

Stay safe out there, NoCo.
