A man who was struck and killed by a van on Friday has been identified as a resident of Fort Collins.

The Larimer County Sheriff Office says Marvin Hernandez, 23, was killed by "multiple blunt force injuries" when he was hit by a van in Fort Collins last week. The Coloradoan is reporting that the van was traveling north to south through the 200 block of West Harmony Road when the victim crossed the street without using a proper crosswalk. Hernandez was hit by the Toyota mini-van and rushed to the Medical Center of the Rockies where he passed away.

Fort Collins Police Special Operations Division Assistant Chief said this in a news release:

“Our hearts are with everyone involved in this situation. Our collision reconstruction team is working diligently to determine what led to this tragic outcome.”

This fatality marks the third pedestrian killed in Fort Collins in less than two months.
