Akron, a town of 2,000 people, located east of Brush, saw a lot of tornado activity on Saturday afternoon.

And, Sunday afternoon.

The Limon area had its share, too.

At least three different tornadoes touched down near Limon on Saturday.

The far eastern plains of Colorado are also in a tornado watch for Monday, May 24, too.

While we didn't have any tornadoes touch down in the Fort Collins area, Saturday, May 22 marked the 13th anniversary of the EF3 tornado, that ripped through the Town of Windsor in 2008.

'With very little warning, the community took shelter, suffering property damage to residential, commercial, industrial and governmental structures,' the Town of Windsor said.

According to the National Weather Service, the tornado that hit Windsor was 39 miles wide, and traveled 24 miles across Weld County. There was one fatality, 78 injuries and millions of dollars in damages.

'Tractor trailers were flipped along U.S. Highway 85, and over 200 power poles were snapped or blown down,' the National Weather Service said. 'The tornado also flattened Windsor's main feedlot and destroyed a dairy barn. Most of the four-hundred cows were killed in the tornado or destroyed later.' That storm also produced baseball-size hail.

Weld County has actually seen the most tornadoes in the U.S. in the last 70 years, at 291.
