Polis ‘Confident’ Colorado’s Restaurants Will Reopen This Month

In a video interview with Governor Polis on May 8, CBSN Denver asked if restaurants would be able to open on June 14. Polis replied that he was hopeful that it would be sooner than that date. 

Polis said that he is 'still confident' that restaurants will reopen in May, but at the end of the Safer-at-Home phase in a couple of weeks, they will have more data that will allow them to consider that decision. But, the governor expressed that he'd like for restaurants to reopen by Memorial Day Weekend.

Right now, Colorado is on par with the majority of states that are slowly, partially reopening, according to The New York Times. Colorado has reopened retail (with limitations), personal services and offices. To the south of Colorado, New Mexico remains under Stay-at-Home until May 25, while Wyoming has no statewide Stay-at-Home Order, and its gyms and personal care services have reopened as of May 1.
