Just 13 miles up the Poudre Canyon is a trail that was impacted by both the High Park fire in 2012 and then by the September 2013 flooding.

The trail was mostly washed away. 7 years later, after many volunteer groups worked to reconstruct and design the trail to be more adaptable to such events in the future, the trail is open.

It's amazing that there are so many people willing to give their time and hard work to a trail for all of us to enjoy.

According to the Reporter Herald, "In 2019 alone, volunteers provided 10,290 hours of their time" to get the trail open before the end of the year.
