Rolling into town February 18-19, 2017, Rails in the Rockies is returning to Estes Park for its 20th year.

Taking place at a new location this year, the Stanley Fairgrounds Event Center Complex will play host to this annual model train show, put on by the Estes Valley Model Railroaders. Guests of all ages will have fun checking out the many, working pieces that make up the Rails in the Rockies exhibit. This includes detailed mini replicas of trains from regions across the United States and Britain, and an array of models dating all the way from the steam age to the present, complete with clanging bells, tooting whistles, and blaring horns. As part of the junior layout, kids will enjoy getting to actually operate some of the model trains themselves. In addition to the various locomotive models, there will be railroad related vendors on-site too.

Exhibit hours for the show are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $7 per person, and children under 12-years-old get in free with an adult. Parking is free for this event.
