Ready for Love? 2 of the Greatest Romantic Comedies are Playing in Fort Collins
You can celebrate love and comedy, or just the 'love' at a couple of special screenings The Lyric is having; it could be a great way to see the new Lyric if you haven't yet.
Movies and romance are so intertwined; you take a date to see a movie, hoping that romance will ensue, and the movie on the screen is about a romance. The pandemic is lessening, it's time to get out and see a show.

I heard that The Lyric will be showing these two movies and thought, 'Those are PERFECT' choices for Valentine's Day celebrating.' One, a funny 'opera' if you will, the other about pretty people and the other about the timeless 'longing for love.'
"Moonstruck" will be playing on Saturday, February 12, and "My Best Friend's Wedding" will be playing on Valentine's Day, itself.
I remember seeing "Moonstruck" when it came out, or maybe on cable shortly after, and really falling for it. 'I love you!' Slap. 'Snap out of it!!' Hysterical. Add in how Nicolas Cage runs through all the emotions in one movie (love, hate, frustration, rage) and how terrific Cher looks and performs, it's really a great movie. It gets 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, so many agree.
I'm now feeling very old, finding out that "My Best Friend's Wedding" was released in 1997; it doesn't seem that old. Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney, Cameron Diaz, Rupert Everett. The cast alone is worth the price of admission.
Of course, it has that classic scene where Julia's fake date gets the whole restaurant singing:
Each movie is only $10, so why not have some fun, in the name of love?
