Threat To Loveland High School Closes The Campus Early

After a similar situation at Frederick High School in Frederick, Colorado, just 24 hours ago,  Loveland High School has canceled classes for the remainder of the day (March, 29th, 2023) after a tip was filed to Colorado's "Safe2Tell" warning them of a potential safety threat to the High School.

In a note sent out by Loveland High School, they said:

This is an important message from Thompson School

District.

This morning, a tip was filed with the State of Colorado's Safe2Tell service which suggested that there was a safety threat at the LHS campus. The tip was immediately provided to the district's safety and security team as well as local law enforcement.

Loveland Police Department officials have fully investigated the tip and have determined that there is no credible threat - All students, staff and visitors are

safe.

Due to the disruption in the schedule as a result of the incident, classes at Loveland High School have been cancelled for the remainder of the day and students have been released.

The safety and security of all students, staff and visitors is the number-one priority of our district team.

We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to remain vigilant and to take all reasonable steps and precautions to help keep everyone safe.

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you as always for your continued support and partnership.

Some in the comments are saying that the schools are being too over-cautious but as a parent with 3 kids in school, there's no such thing as being over-cautious when it comes to the safety of my children. I'd bet most other parents feel the same. I'd also be willing to bet that those commenting negatively don't have children of their own and are just there to troll and stir the pot.

After all of the school shootings and overall violence, especially in the last seven days, you can't be too sure and you're rather be safe than sorry. Here's the post from Loveland High School.

It does look like the Loveland High School Thompson Career Campus will be open for their classes this afternoon.

Thank you to the Thompson School District and Loveland Police Department for acting on this tip as quickly as they did in an effort to keep our kids safe. It's just as easy to assume nothing is wrong and end up in a much worse situation so to me, this felt like the right move. We'll update this article with any further information.
