A man who kidnapped, severely beat and then sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman back in 2013 will now likely be spending the rest of his life behind bars, according to policeNot only was Stefan Moon responsible for committing the horrible acts above, he also left the female victim bound in a Fort Collins park, however, police were not able to identify him as a suspect at that time.

Moon was arrested for his involvement in the incident in 2017 – three years after it took place. It wasn't until August 2019 that a jury finally convicted him of multiple felonies.

According to police, the breakthrough in the investigation was made possible through DNA evidence, and they were able to determine that it was Moon who had committed the attack. In a twisted turn to the story, it was discovered that Moon had later actually befriended the woman he attacked, completely unbeknownst to her that he was responsible for what happened to her.

At his October court appearance, Moon was sentenced to 128 years in prison on felony charges including sexual assault, second-degree kidnapping, and first-degree assault. This was the maximum sentence possible for this case.
