Suspect Arrested Following Stabbing at Fort Collins Hotel
The Larimer County Sheriff's Office arrested a 37-year-old Fort Collins man on murder charges this week, following an incident at a local hotel.
At approximately 8:52 a.m. on December 3, deputies were called to the Baymont Inn at 3808 East Mulberry Street in Fort Collins, regarding reports of a stabbing. The hotel clerk reported that a male guest was in the lobby suffering from a chest wound. The 35-year-old victim was then transported to a local hospital by ambulance, and is expected to recover from his injuries.
By the time deputies arrived at the hotel, the suspect had fled the scene. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office worked with Fort Collins Police to investigate, and it was determined that the suspect was a known associate of the victim.
The suspect was identified as 37-year-old Kurt Graham, a transient of Fort Collins. Deputies obtained an arrest warrant and began searching the area for Graham.
Later in the evening, at about 9 p.m., Fort Collins Police officers were dispatched to the Wal-Mart at 1250 Magnolia Street on reports of a man trying to open car doors in the parking lot.
When officers located the man in the Wal-Mart parking lot, he was identified as Graham, and subsequently arrested. He was booked into the Larimer County Jail on the following allegations: Attempted 2nd Degree Felony Murder, 1st Degree Felony Assault, and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (FCPS).
Graham's bond was set at $20,000 for the two LCSO allegations.
