Just in case you saw the title of the upcoming movie 'Jack & Diane' and wondered if maybe John Mellencamp had something to do with it, he's issued a press release clearing up any possible confusion.

The date and place for the yearly festival that is Farm Aid — headlined and hosted by Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp — has been announced. On Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, the concert will find it’s home at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Penn.

In years past, the John Steinbeck Award, named after the famous author, has been bestowed upon musical greats including Bruce Springsteen, Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez and Jackson Browne. And now you can add John Mellencamp to their lofty ranks — he’s set to receive the Steinbeck Award himself next month.
