With his off-screen demeanor calming down a bit, he’s revived his career (see: ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’) and he’s back on top of the Hollywood mountain, especially with his upcoming role in ‘Rock of Ages.’ But has his career resurgence made him go a bit bananas again?

When Tom Cruise starred in ‘Risky Business,’ he only had to lip-sync the Bob Seger classic ‘Old Time Rock & Roll.’ But in the upcoming big-screen version of the Broadway hit ‘Rock of Ages,’ Cruise actually sings hits by Guns N’ Roses and Def Leppard — and those renditions are part of the movie’s soundtrack, due June 5.

Based strictly on cast, the musical ‘Rock of Ages’ is a sure-fire hit. It has Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Julianne Hough, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Mary J. Blige. It also stars a monkey named “Hey, Man,” who may well upstage them all.

Everyone says the movie musical is dead, but don’t tell that to the people who made ‘Rock of Ages,’ the new movie based on the hit stage musical. This one has an amazing all-star cast, including Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Giamatti, Mary J. Blige, Russell Brand, Julianne Hough and many others. And oh yeah, Tom Cruise with long hair and no shirt on.
