After months of speculation, the Rolling Stones have finally announced four concerts to take place before the end of 2012. In the YouTube announcement (seen below) the group makes official long-rumored plans to play live before the end of their 50th year together. They'll play two dates in London in late November, and two dates in Newark, N.J. in mid-December.

Many of the world's most well-known landmarks are being overrun by gorillas! To help promote their new 'Grrr!' greatest hits package, the Rolling Stones have unleashed 3,000 of the hairy beasts to top structures like the Empire State Building, Big Ben in London and the Sydney Opera House.

Veteran keyboardist Chuck Leavell, who has worked with such big names as the Allman Brothers Band, Eric Clapton and John Mayer, recently spent a week in Paris with old friends. That might not seem like news until you realize that he wasn’t hanging out at the Eiffel Tower, but in a recording studio, and the old friends were the Rolling Stones.

Most of us weren’t able to travel to London’s Somerset House to celebrate the Rolling Stones‘ 50th Anniversary last month, so a new video the band has posted will have to do.

The Rolling Stones will be the subject of an exhaustive new documentary that is slated to air on HBO in the fall. The self-proclaimed “Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World” gave their full cooperation to the film, whose air date has not been announced.
