The Day the Music Died: A Tour of Colorado’s Closed Concert Venues
We'll start this off by saying that right now, we are all banding together to flatten the COVID-19 curve. Putting things like live music and large gatherings on hold while we #stayhome is a sign of solidarity for the greater good, but sadly, our local venues are shut down in the meantime (here is how you can help support them).
There's something a little bit eerie about the vacant venues around the state, when just over a month ago we could see our favorite bands with our favorite people. Here's a virtual tour of our Colorado venues' uplifting, and sometimes humorous, marquee messages.
We love you too, Bluebird.
We spent January and February seeing bands like Saint Motel and Silversun Pickups at the sold-out Odgen... We'll see you again soon.
Stay healthy, be kind.
From Colfax and Broadway...
...to downtown. 'It's just an intermission.'
The Oriental Theater took a slightly funnier approach (for the win).
We'll conclude this tour on our home turf.
Let's flatten the curve, stay well and get back to the dance parties soon, NoCo!
