Getting sober is hard, but it's easier to get by with a little help from your friends. That's why The Phoenix was created, as Northern Colorado's much-needed chapter of sober active events.

Erin Taylor is in charge of the organization, which offers free events in anyone who is in 48+ hours of continuous sobriety from all substances. Whether it's fitness, community gatherings, group treatment or more, The Phoenix was created to support those in recovery.

In her message to me, Taylor said that the organization asks that all events are physically and emotionally safe, and "do not allow any racist, sexist, homophobic, or other language". This means that yes, if you're looking for support in your sober journey, you can be assured that help will come from every direction.

Organizations like this do need support from the community, which is why The Phoenix is holding their first fundraiser on Saturday, September 28th from 8:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at W.I.L.D Horizons CrossFit in Fort Collins. If you want to learn more about a community that wants to help you in your sobriety journey, this might be the event for you.
