Three separate crashes over the weekend tragically ended in the deaths of four people.

According to the Greeley Tribune, the first crash of the weekend occurred just before 4 p.m. on Friday near U.S. 85 and Colorado 392.

The accident occurred when a 16-year-old girl driving a Nissan sedan went through a stop sign, colliding with a 1997 Ford pickup. All three occupants of both vehicles were taken to North Colorado Medical Center. Both occupants of the Nissan were declared dead at the hospital.

The second crash occurred around 5 p.m. on Saturday near mile marker 49 on Interstate 76 outside of Roggen. A 59-tear-old man driving a 2016 Freightliner and trailer went off of the right shoulder, hitting the guardrail and going off of the right side of the road, according to Colorado State Patrol. The semi rolled before hitting a second guardrail, finally coming to a stop. The driver was declared dead on the scene.

The third accident resulting in death occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Saturday evening in Roggen. A 28-year-old woman driving a 2016 Honda sedan south on Weld 71 went through a stop sign at Weld County Road 16. When crossing the intersection, a 17-year-old Roggen girl in a 2007 Subaru was hit and suffered moderate injuries. The 28-year-old woman was declared dead on the scene and may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to the Greeley Tribune.

The accidents over the weekend bring the total fatalities on Weld County roads to 36 in 2020.
