We all know that Colorado is a great place to live in, aside from when it drops to -10, that's why we live here. What reasons would you give though, for working here?

How many years have you worked in Colorado? I feel I may be one of a small percentage of Coloradans who have worked in Colorado their whole lives. Since I was 16, I've been working here. That adds up to a LOT of paystubs.

Think about the people who have moved to the Centennial State for work: Maybe they were transferred, maybe the set out to work here. They might move to Colorado because of all the wonderful weather we have, all the great outdoors that are available in Colorado, or maybe the elevation is better for their health.

I'm sure there are many more reasons for moving to Colorado for work; new research shows why the state is #5 overall, for workers. We beat out Wyoming by more than 10, and Kansas by more than 20. But it's not a competition, save that for company picnic party (do they still do those?)

Three Key Reasons Why Colorado Comes in at #5

  • Our Poverty Rate is decreasing. 6% of the state's population over 100,000 lives at some level of poverty. That's not excellent, but states like Mississippi and Louisiana are three times higher.
  • One of the Lowest Income Gaps by Race. We have the second lowest wage disparity between white people and people of color, per dollar earned. (Texas is #1)
  • Colorado is in the Top 5 for Job Growth. The data shows that we have great job growth in sectors such as education, retail, and food and beverage.
