‘Tiger World’ Playground Removed at Fort Collins School
The playground known as "Tiger World" at Tavelli Elementary School has been removed with a replacement planned.
The Fort Collins playground that debuted almost 30 years ago with old telephone poles used for swings and the old Plumber School fire escape used for a slide will be no more.
After nearly three decades serving the children of northeast Fort Collins, "Tiger World" playground has been removed. According to the Poudre School District, one of the biggest problems the now dismantled playground faced was not being compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Madeline Noblett who is the Executive Director of Communications for the Poudre School District said this to the Coloradoan:
It required continuous maintenance, and replacement parts were either no longer available or had to be produced by PSD staff.
Tavelli Principal Christine Hendricks said in a newsletter that that The Poudre School district has "dreamed big" to replace the beloved playground, however they still need some funding and are looking for community donations.
