Each week, Townsquare Media, sponsored by FNBO, will be highlighting a Northern Colorado high school athlete as part of Townsquare Media’s High School MVP program. Each of these athletes has had an outstanding presence on the court or field and has been submitted or selected as our MVP of the week.

The University Bulldogs are off to a swift conference play start, posting a current league-play record of 4-1.

And on the list of leaders? Six-foot senior varsity hitter Aesha Alrashed.

In 36 sets played on the season so far, Alrashed has notched 107 kills and 22 solo blocks. In University High School's match against Brush on Sept. 23, she had herself quite the game.

In the three-set sweep, Alrashed penned 11 kills in 14 attempts, hitting a solid 78.6% for the match. She also notched 12 aces in just 22 serve attempts. Alrashed's presence at the net wasn't her only dominant part of the match. She was also perfect in serve receiving and ball handling, docking zero errors in a defensive role.

We asked Alrashed a few questions about the Bulldogs' season so far, her goals for her last season, and what's next for her after high school!
