Junior Ethan Florez found the end zone three times in the Eaton Reds' 41-7 state win over Pagosa Springs in the first round of the state tournament last week.

The running back carried the ball 17 times for 121 yards in the Class 2A tournament win and is this week's Townsquare Media High School MVP for his efforts.

No. 5 seed Eaton next faces No. 1 Resurrection Christian of Loveland at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the state semifinals. Meanwhile elsewhere in Northern Colorado: No. 4 Loveland takes on No. 1 Dakota Ridge at 1 p.m. Saturday in Class 4A; and No. 1 Roosevelt faces No. 4 Pueblo South at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Florez and fellow senior Salvador Rojas have created one of the most potent 1-2 rushing punched in all of Northern Colorado for Eaton.

Florez now has 539 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns this season while the senior Rojas has 434 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
