Try Whipping Up This Perfect Puppy Chow Recipe
If you're craving a sweet snack, that's quick and easy to make, puppy chow is the perfect answer. Requiring just four ingredients, and taking less than an hour of your time, this recipe for puppy chow makes a batch big enough to share with family and friends — if it lasts longer than five minutes, that is.
Ingredients:
- 6-7 cups rice Chex cereal
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup semisweet or dark chocolate chips
- 1-2 cups powdered sugar
Start by melting the chocolate chips and peanut butter together in the microwave or on the stove. Meanwhile, add 3 cups of cereal to a large bowl. Pour 1 cup of the chocolate/peanut butter mixture on top of the cereal, then add three more cups of cereal, followed by the rest of the mixture on top. Stir it all together in the bowl until the cereal is evenly coated. Put the bowl in the fridge to cool for a a bit, but don't let it harden. Once it's at or below room temp, take it out and add 1 cup of powdered sugar, mixing until combined. Allow the puppy chow to cool for another 10-15 minutes, and then add more powdered sugar to your liking. Store in an airtight container.
