Bystanders, who also performed CPR on the man before rescuers arrived, said that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

BCSO reports that the second incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Monday (March 1), when a skier collided with a tree on the Lower Ambush run.

Despite rescue efforts, the 16-year-old male succumbed to his injuries, and authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.

The Boulder County Coroner's Office has not yet released the skier's cause of death, and it is unknown if he was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Authorities are withholding identification of both the snowboarder and the skier until next of kin are notified.
