Are you still weeping about the Colorado Rockies trading away Nolan Arenado? Would it help you to know that Colorado sports fans have felt this misery about a trade before too?

While no previous deal included a Colorado team dishing in $51 million to get rid of a generational player for midlevel prospects, there's been plenty of bad decisions by Centennial State sports teams.

With the inspiration of the recent Arenado blunder, we looked back at the worst trade decisions made by the Rockies, Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche.

Worst Trades in Colorado Sports History

So who did the Rockies get for Arenado anyways?

Lefthanded pitcher Austin Gomber will give Colorado the most immediate impact. The 27-year-old southpaw has thrown over 100 major league innings with the Cardinals and had a 1.66 ERA in 14 games with St. Louis last season.

Infielder Mateo Gil is a career .252 hitter in three minor league seasons. Infielder Elehuris Montero has hit 32 home runs and batted .269 in five minor league seasons. Righthanded pitcher Tony Locey had a 6.35 ERA in his firsts season in the minors in 2019 but did have a solid collegiate career at Georgia. Righthanded pitcher Jake Sommers had a 4.18 ERA in his lone minor league season in 2019.

While the Rockies undoubtedly got some depth for their farm system for Arenado, there's just not much upside they got in return.
