Colorado Sergeant Turns Retirement Into Marriage Proposal
Who doesn't love a good love story - especially when that love story involves two special people who have both served the State of Colorado?
A moment that was solely supposed to mark the end of a sergeant's line of duty with the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office turned into a moment of new beginnings for that same sergeant... and his girlfriend, too.
On Monday afternoon (Aug. 9) the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office shared photos via Twitter of a heartwarming moment featuring Sgt. Steven Binks, who has decided to say goodbye to work and hello to retirement after 31 years of service with the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office.
While those present in the room thought Binks was simply there to "bid adieu", there was something much bigger in the works.
Sgt. Steven Binks turned his retirement into his very own marriage proposal.
Binks "popped the big question" on his girlfriend - now fiancé - Debbie, who currently serves as the Victims Assistance Coordinator with the Castle Rock Police Department.
WOW indeed.
Huge congratulations to Sgt. Steven Binks on his retirement, and to both Sgt. Binks and his fiancé Debbie on their upcoming marriage!
And thank you for your service.
