CSU Volleyball Making History, Clinches 17th Mountain West Title

November has certainly shaped up to be a big month for Colorado State Athletics, and CSU women's volleyball certainly has had a lot to do with that.

Over the weekend, the incredibly impressive Colorado State Rams volleyball team took their talents to Boise, Idaho to take on the Boise State Broncos, who they ultimately beat in an epic 3-1 win on Saturday (Nov. 20).

Marking the end of regular season play, the Rams completed their regular season with an 18-9 overall record and a 14-4 finish in the league.

This weekend's big win put the Rams back at the top, leading the way in the Mountain West Conference.

Winning is undeniably an exciting feeling, but this win just meant so much more; this particular win over Boise State allowed Colorado State Volleyball to clinch its 17th regular-season title - a record unmatched by any other Colorado State athletic team.

"I think with this particular team and how our season started, it's really gratifying because they really worked hard to get better throughout the course of the season. It was very linear for us. It's cool to see that they respond to our coaching and they prepare well.", CSU Volleyball Head Coach Tom Hilbert said following this weekend's road win.

What's Next?

With volleyball's regular season in the rearview, the Rams are gearing up and turning their sights over to #tourneyseason.

CSU will enter Mountain West Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed, which will commence next week in Las Vegas at Cox Pavilion, according to CSU Athletics.

Looking back, CSU volleyball has won the Mountain West Tournament five times during its 10 season run.

Going into the tournament as the No. 1 seed, CSU will have a first-round by and will play the winner of the No. 4 vs. No. 5 seed match on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, Nov. 25) at 5 p.m. local time.
