Def Leppard Guitarist Vivian Campbell Files for Divorce
Former Dio and longtime Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell has filed for divorce from Julie Campbell, his wife of 25 years, according to a report from TMZ.
According to their account of the filing in Los Angeles Superior County Court, Campbell is citing "irreconcilable differences" with his spouse, asking for joint custody of their 13- and 11-year old daughters, and requesting the court deny Julie (who he married in 1987) any spousal support.
Campbell joined Def Leppard in 1992 following the death of their former guitarist, Steve Clark. Prior to that he gained much acclaim for his work on Dio's first three albums. He recently announced his intention to re-form the original Dio lineup (minus departed frontman Ronnie James Dio): "No one deserves to be onstage playing those songs from a guitar player point of view more than me. I wrote those riffs. I’m going to take them back.”
