EPA: Fort Collins, Greeley Have ‘Serious’ Air Pollution
Larimer and Weld County will be downgraded from 'moderate' to 'serious' in regards to compliance with federal ozone pollution standards, CBS4 Denver reported.
It may not seem like the air quality in Northern Colorado is that bad, especially because (knock on wood) we've been spared a bad wildfire season, and we ride our bikes everywhere.
However, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency gave Larimer and Weld Counties (along with several others) orders to clean up the air until they meet federal standards.
According to CBS4, Colorado could lose 'federal highway funding if they don’t come up with a plan to correct ozone violations.'
