First Reported Hepatitis A Death in Colorado was a Denver resident
The first death linked to the hepatitis A outbreak a one year ago in Colorado has been reported by the Colorado Department of Health.
There have been 163 cases of hepatitis A reported since October 2018 in Colorado alone.
According to Outbreak News Today, "the majority of cases in this outbreak have occurred in El Paso County, but cases also have occurred in Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Douglas, Fremont, Jefferson and Pueblo counties."
Public health vaccinated approximately 8,000 Coloradans since the outbreak occurred, but the case number in the metro area of Denver has steadily increased since July.
