Colorado cake artist Jack Phillips refused to design a custom cake for a same-sex wedding. Phillips' case will be argued before the U.S. Supreme Court in early December. Colorado Christian University, Alliance Defending Freedom, and faith leaders from across Colorado are holding a rally in support of religious freedom and Jack Philips on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 10:00am at the Colorado Christian University Event Center. (8787 W. Alameda Ave. Lakewood)

Phillips opened his cakeshop 24 years ago. He claims he wanted to do more than just provide for his family and his employees. He wanted to serve his community, share his artistic talents, and honor God through his work every day.

He named his business Masterpiece Cakeshop. The name was inspired in part by his favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 2:10, which says, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.”

Jack says, “We don’t want God to be part of our lives on just Sundays. We want Him to be part of our lives every day.”

The purpose of the rally is to support Jack Philips and his "right" to exercise his religious freedom.
