As with any holiday, there will be more drivers on the busy freeways this year. I love a drink or two with the family (okay, or three or four-- it's the holidays) but it's never a good idea to get behind the wheel after getting jolly with your loved ones...and CDOT wants Colorado to know that.

According to a press release, The Colorado Department of Transportation is cracking down this Thanksgiving on impaired drivers, and enforcement will be at an all-time high on the day of the holiday. It doesn't matter what you're celebrating next week: getting behind the wheel while impaired is too dangerous to excuse.

According to CDOT, last November there were 57 fatalities on Colorado roads, and 40% of those involved impaired drivers.

Be careful next week, and pay attention: if you notice someone close to you wants to get behind the wheel and has had one too many drinks, step in. We want ALL of our loved ones safe and sound this Christmas.
