Trail Ridge Road Has Reopened in Time For the Weekend
After the Trail Ridge Road reopened for the summer last week, it soon closed due to inclement weather. Fortunately, it's reopening just ahead of a hot weekend.
In a press release, the National Park Service said, 'On Tuesday, park snowplow operators experienced visibility of less than 100 feet due to blowing snow on sections of the road above treeline.'
Crews removed six to eight feet of snow, but both lanes are now reopened.
As the Front Range reaches the 90s this weekend, remember that if you plan to head up to the mountains for a cool down (like this dog), things are a little bit different right now because of COVID-19 restrictions.
'Reservations to enter the park are available through www.recreation.gov,' the National Park Service said. 'Currently, reservations are available to enter the park through July 31.'
You will be permitted to visit the park within a two-hour window between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. More information is available here.
