Whether you want to brave the chilly waters of Windsor Lake in early April, run a 5k, or even simply walk it, the choice is yours. And one thing is for certain, this is going to be a fun day for a great cause.

On Apr. 9, the 2nd Annual Windsor Polar Plunge and 5K Run/Walk will take place at Boardwalk Park - and it all goes down to benefit the Special Olympics Colorado.

There are various levels of donations for participants to hit in order to enter, but they're pretty simple. Additionally, to help out such a wonderful organization like the Special Olympics Colorado is such a great feeling.

To plunge, the minimum amount to raise is $75, and to run/walk the 5K, it's simply $30. Normally to enter a run or event like this, there is a "registration fee", so the fee for this is the donation to Special Olympics.

I've made up my mind to do the plunge because it just looks like such a fun (albeit chilly) but really fun time and a unique experience.

This is one of those events at Windsor Lake that is not only fun to participate in, but fun to watch and just be around as well.

If you have any questions about this event and how you can help volunteer, participate, or simply watch, the Special Olympics Colorado has all the info you need.
