80 Percent Failure Rate of Mold Tests at Denver Dispensaries
25 Denver area dispensaries were tested for contaminants in September. Out of those 25, 80 percent of the dispensaries failed plant matter testing for the maximum allowed amount of yeast and mold in cannabis products.
Tested products included flower, pre-rolled joints and shake. 20 of the dispensaries tested had at least one hold or quarantine on product. According to Westword, a majority of the contaminated marijuana came from wholesale locations. The dispensary locations are not currently being named. However, they will be in the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment report in the upcoming months.
