2 Separate Shootings Occurred Wednesday in Greeley
Greeley Police arrested two individuals on Wednesday for separate shooting incidents.
Jaime Gonzalez-Quezada turned himself in around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning on murder charges. He was booked into the Weld County Jail on charges of second-degree murder and reckless endangerment. He's being held with no bond.
Greeley Police first responded to the incident around 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning on the 2400 block of 16th street. Authorities found an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds, who was later pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
Greeley Police said that witness statements and video evidence identified Gonzalez-Quezada as the suspect. His estranged wife was also present during the shooting.
Detectives were following up on several leads on the whereabouts of Gonzalez-Quezada after he fled the scene.
Later on Wednesday, Greeley Police responded to another shooting on the 2100 block of 18th street just before midnight.
After being interviewed by detectives, 37-year-old Stephen Wilson-Brown was arrested for second-degree assault, menacing and prohibited use of a firearm in the incident. He was booked into the Weld County Jail and is being held without bond.
Wilson-Brown is accused of shooting his roommate Samuel Morgan in the right foot with a 12-gauge shotgun.
Greeley Police said the two got into an argument about a third female roommate in an apparent love triangle. The two roommates also argued about cigarettes.
Morgan was rushed to a hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law. An arrest is merely an accusation by law enforcement of a crime.
