Queensryche Make Live Debut with New Singer
Progressive heavy metal group Queensryche‘s remaining members are back on their feet again, performing at their first live show since the recent ousting of vocalist Geoff Tate.
As reported on Bravewords, the new-look ‘Ryche debuted this past July 28, headlining the last day of Minnesota’s Halfway Jam with a brand new singer — Todd La Torre. It was their first time onstage since losing, or in this case exiling, former frontman Tate following disputed reports of attacks, violence and financial wrongdoings. Recently, the band’s been dealing with several lawsuits, one of which found Tate unsuccessfully attempting to keep the remaining members from using the name Queensryche.
Hardships aside — or masked — the band quickly bounced back and hired Crimson Glory singer La Torre. Their debut at Minnesota’s Halfway Jam featured 18 Queensryche tracks including ‘Speak,’ ‘My Empty Room’ and ‘Spreading The Disease’ as well as one wisely chosen Iron Maiden cover, ‘Wrathchild.’ So how does it all measure up?
