According to a post on the Weld County Sheriff's Office's official Facebook page, the missing pit bull was stolen from a property west of Pierce last Wednesday night (Sept. 22).

The tan-colored pit bull, who is not microchipped, is a female and was last seen wearing a blue collar.

The owner of the missing pit bull told deputies last week that he typically lets the dog out for a nightly run between 7 and 8 p.m; he typically lets the dog run around outside by itself and then the dog will return home after about 15 minutes.

After about 30 minutes had passed and his dog did not return home, the pitbull's owner decided to go out and search for the dog.

The search was unsuccessful.

The next day, the pit bull's owner decided to contact a local oil and gas company in the area in hopes that, maybe, somebody saw somebody pick up his dog - to which the company provided the owner with surveillance camera footage from one of its operations near the dog owner’s home.

Surveillance video showed a vehicle driving near Weld County roads 25 and 88 at 7:50 p.m., which is about the time the dog would have been outside for its run, as per the Weld County Sheriff's Office's Facebook post. Unfortunately, deputies were unable to obtain a good description of the vehicle from the video.

Should you or anyone you know have any information regarding the possible whereabouts of the missing pit bull. you are asked to call Deputy Desarae Burson at (970) 400-4135.
