10 Things You’ll Find Shopping at the National Western Stock Show
The rows of things to buy go on and on and on at the National Western Stock Show. The official website calls it "acres of shopping" and says there are over 300 retail vendors.
Sure there are some familiar vendors that seem to set up at most expos and trade shows, but there are certainly some vendors that really thrive with the western lifestyle customer that shop in herds during the annual event. There was certainly more bling, turquoise(and jewelry in general), farm equipment, and animal fur than I usually see.
The National Western Stock Show runs from January 7 to January 23. If you were hoping to attend this year, this weekend is your last chance.
Here are 10 things that stood out to me while I was browsing at the National Western Stock Show.
Buffalo Fur Jacket
The price tag said $3200. Several people stopped to try it on.
Wallet Belt Buckle
Yes, it's exactly what it's called. A belt buckle that doubles as a wallet. Hands-free living with plenty of bling-rrific choices.
Clint Eastwood Art
One must assume there is a person who will find this art piece and realize it's what they have been needing for that very specific space in that very specific room.
Leather Dog Collars with Bling
There were so many choices of sparkly collars I don't know how one chooses. Do you think the dog feels fancy when wearing it?
Horse Trailer with a Small Apartment Inside
This horse trailer was selling for around $110,000. It's a horse trailer and an RV mixed together. The living space(living quarters as it's officially called) was so much more than you would assume.
Hats That Say Stuff
These hats covered just about any snarky thing you could want to say without actually having to say anything.
- "I need a leaf blower, but for people"
- "Mind your own business, or pay my bills"
- "That's a horrible idea, let's do it"
A Barbed Wire Plant
This was a barbed wire vendor. There were also towel bars, coat hooks, and gun racks.
Bull Skulls
Some of these were absolutely stunning. I like the idea of using every part of a dead animal and this seems like a cool tribute to the cow that once carried these horns around.
Tractors, Brand New Shiny Tractors
The tires were shiny, the glass was clean. It's fun to see a brand new tractor before it's put to truly dirty work.
Human-Powered Frozen Drink
This hamster wheel is for humans to make their own snow cones.
If the horses, pigs, cows, and rodeos don't draw you in, perhaps the unique shopping will to the grounds of the National Western Stock Show.
